Don't you wonder or ask any others We can talk when they leave Absolute in what we do Listen to me You were wrong but now you're right Doesn't it feel so good? All the lessons ignore the questions We're so misunderstood You could stop what you're doing but you don't You could end it right now but you won't When she opens her mouth it's the truth Enough for you Kind of looks like cooking with gasoline Maybe you're trying a little to hard Go find yourself a mirror Time to find wherever you are now Does it look like at all what she said You can't swim holding buckets of lead Does it half resemble the truth Enough for you You could stop what you're doing but you don't You could end it right now but you won't When she opens her mouth it's the truth Enough for you

Did you hear about the wind and the sun? Sun makes them sit, the wind makes them run every time Radiate in warming light, when it blows from the north Pull your coat on tight, on tight You could use a hammer for sure You might just put a hole in the door Like leaving a dog on a chain everyday Without enough rope to reach anything to play with There's to much, to much to lose To screw it up as you're likely to do There's to much, to much to lose Shut your mouth and do what I say Don't you question me that way I decided what's wrong with you Doesn't matter what you do Around here there's my control Around here you pay the toll Why are you looking over there? Acting like somebody cares

Don't give a thought what I might like What worked Monday morning might not Wednesday night What it means? It just depends A critic's intuition lacking discern A mind inconsistent not very well learned Better served to take it or leave it Don't overthink it, don't overthink it, I'm going to bitch, I'm going to bitch Another glass that's half empty I'm just telling you what it is I see Don't know why I do it, I'll just say The commentary is deafening Can it make you any dumber? Is there such a thing? The price is running down the street Don't overthink it, don't overthink it, I'm going to bitch, I'm going to bitch Repeated phrases drive the narrative Shape the perception of how we're supposed to live Hive mind we are legion Continue to ruminate on what I don't understand Why are you arguing with this ill informed human? I don't know, I'll just say again Don't overthink it, don't overthink it, I'm going to bitch, I'm going to bitch

Ate a leaf, two or three, come to find out they cure everything They cure everything man, they cure everything If you eat two or three they will cure everything They cure every, they cure everything If you eat just enough they will cure everything The whole world is spreading disease This is something we can sell on TV Package it up in a chewable pill Add some sugar? We probably will Easy selling point 'cause this is the thing This is the medicine that cures everything They cure everything man, they cure everything If you eat just enough they will cure everything Understand that it can never be free The only one who can sell it is me Did I mention that they cure everything? It really is a hell of a thing Easy selling point 'cause this is the thing This is the medicine that cures everything They cure everything man, they cure everything It's a hell of a thing how they cure everything They cure everything man, they cure everything If you eat just enough they will cure everything They cure everything man, they cure everything If you eat two or three they will cure everything Did I mention that they cure everything It really is a hell of a thing Easy selling point 'cause this is the thing This is the medicine that cure's everything

Start a War 03:44
Like a hummingbird, I'll fight you for this drink with all my might Lay down my life Continue to persist, I'll start a war, I'll start a war I know just what it's for, I'll start a war Like a rattlesnake, I've lived under this rock for most my life I will defend, if you tread on me I'm sure to strike That's what I am, that's just what I am This plot you see is everything to me I'll start a war, I'll start a war It's what I know, it's time for you to go I'll start a war I'm a grizzly bear, see me walking up you better run I'm an old man, I remind you to stay off my lawn Like everything, if it's in your hand it's not in mine I'll start a war, in this case it's well worth all my time This plot you see is everything to me I'll start a war, I'll start a war It's what I know, it's time for you to go I'll start a war, I'll start a war

Leave Behind 04:49
Maybe one day you'll just have to go Grab what you can on the way out the door Only take what you can carry with you What would you leave behind? It's not like it couldn't happen you know Covered up in ash and stone Landslides racing waves across the sea What would you leave behind? Maybe some of the books on the shelf Maybe all of the paintings on the wall Maybe just a photo or two What would you leave behind? I don't want to leave behind, I don't want to leave behind If you want to dig in the dirt, you should know it might just hurt Taking a time machine, not changing anything All that's buried in the sand and clay Is everything that's had its day and all that's left behind I don't want to leave behind, I don't want to leave behind (2x)

Volcano 04:40
She said to me, 'what are you doing here? On a volcano staring it down until it disappears Turn around now, take the trail right over there And you'll find something to get you down from here' She took my hand and led me on the way Asked me questions like, 'what you got to say? How'd you get here and where are you from? Are they still waiting for you to get back home?' I got a lot to say and nothing all at once Won't you take my heart to burn inside the earth To the departed, we miss you very much To the broken hearted, I'm sorry for what I've done To the neglected, you deserve much more To the ones who care, I'm not sure what that's for And to you, you might already know Hypnotized by the fire down below On a volcano, is where I am I can see what I have and what I had On the edge here until it blows Maybe then I'll know which way I should go I'll just stay here for a little while You don't believe me I can see it in your smile

I don't know it all began, when this thought took hold in my mind All I know, I just let go, no matter my desire The elevator doesn't work anymore What I could imagine then, left in a drawer I'm older now and I guess I don't know when I left you there, I don't know where I don't know when I lost my friend Somewhere in between Seattle and Michigan Try to explain or to ascertain Rising off the road another thing unknown I don't know when I lost my lonely friend Around the bend is my best guess, but I don't know when I don't when I lost my friend With my youth and some other things My memories barely stay with me and I don't when I don't know when I lost my friend Somewhere in between Seattle and Michigan Try to explain or to ascertain Rising off the road another thing unknown

about

There is starlight visible on a clear, earthbound evening that traveled 6000 light years to be seen here. Consider one light year is the distance light travels in one year, about 5.9K billion miles. The aforementioned starlight has traveled 6000 times that distance over the course of 6000 years to arrive in our visual spectrum. Some old light no? A tortoise that lives for close to 200 years is also old, but not as old as a two thousand year old, or older, tree and not nearly as old as a rock dated back to the Mesozoic age (a relatively recent geological age still hundreds of millions of years distant). How old is the oldest story ever told through pictures or gesture or words by a human around a campfire or the oldest song chanted along to the beat of a drum, stomping feet or clapping hands? Unanswerable perhaps depending on the standard of certainty required.
Some of these songs have been kicking around my brain for at least 5 years (these old things), but maybe they aren’t old at all considering. 7 note scales, 5 note scales, chromatics, harmony, 4/4, 3/4, 6/8 (?) rhythms, etc., it is all in there. Otra vez (again)! Rely on the familiar. After all, it sounds like music.
I hope someone hears my melancholy tales about the end of the world and other things as I blast these songs off into the furthest corners of the world-wide-web’s dustbin. Whoever you may be, I hope you find the music familiar, but interesting (not that those concepts are mutually exclusive anyway), not old or new, but timeless.

Gear I used: Tele, Strat, Reverend Double Agent OG, Blueridge BR-180, J-Bass, Fender Deluxe Reverb, Peavey Classic 20 Mini, Mesa Boogie 1 X 12” cabinet, Truetone Jekyll and Hyde, Truetone Clean Boost, Boss DD-3, Xotic AC Booster, Shure SM57, Sennheiser MD421, AKG C214, Studio Projects T3, Universal Audio Apollo Twin, Garageband, isolation cabinet for my guitar speaker to control volume in the hood.
